What started out as any old day turned into a rotten one. It was the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful and leisurely breakfast and all was well. I was getting ready to walk out the door to teach a class when Mug excitedly came into the kitchen asking me for a hug and a kiss before I left. He was so giddy and cute that I reached down gave him a smacker and he yelled something funny and took off in the dining room running. I heard him splat. Did not really give it much thought to be quite honest {I cannot count on 2 hands the number of times he falls a day}. He was crying on the floor and Brent scooped him up. He was crying really hard and complaining of his leg hurting when all of the sudden, his eyes just went blank. His body rigid. No response. Brent yelled, "let's go!" I knew what he meant. I was scrambling, REW on the floor crying, Brent was out the door I was behind him with REW when all of the sudden Mug started crying, "I don't want you to go!" I guess he remembered that I was about to leave. We hopped in the car to the ER. He was admitted right away. By the time we got there he was acting normal. Running up and down the hallways of the ER. They did a CT scan {which he did awesome--no crying at all} to rule out any brain injury. The Dr. said the scan was normal and it was a concussion. He said the best thing to do about them was to not get another one. Sheesh. This was Mug's second CT scan. I think if we go in again, the authorities will be ordered to review us! After the drama and a screaming REW, we went and bought the Christmas classics, the claymation versions. Now we have been watching them non-stop. Wow. And how many more years do I have to stress???? Thank you LORD nothing else was wrong!!!

Oh my gosh I can't imagine how scary that was. Tears came to my eyes just reading that, how very very scary for a Mama (and Dada!). Sheesh, parenting- the hardest thing ever!
Yikes!!! Takes the old saying, "boys will be boys" to a whole other level.
Glad he's okay!
Man, I'm glad he's okay! I guess this is the type of thing that moms of boys have to be ready for! OH LORD, I'm not ready!! Maybe my boys will keep each other out of trouble...OR maybe just the opposite...They'll get each other in plenty of trouble together! E.R. visits times two!
oh, how scary! I am really dreading all the falls and bumps Brayton will endure along the way. I'm so glad he is okay!
Poor little man! I'm so glad things are okay! When you were describing the "blank" look in his eyes, it was so scary!
How many more years do you have to stress?? Probably until that boy finds a wife who can take him into the ER and just call you afterwards to tell he's okay! I think it is just something we have to embrace as mother's of boys.
Oh Sweet Boy! So glad he is ok! I can only imagine how scary that must have been for you guys. Make sure you keep us posted on how he is doing!
oh man, that is so scary. I am so glad he's OK!!!
That is so scary!! I can't imagine how horrifying that must have been for you and Brent. I'm so thankful he's okay!
Oh my goodness! I didn't know that could even happen with a concussion. I am so sorry and so glad that he is fine!!
