The Saddest Day

I am writing today with a deep sorrow. Last night, my beloved pugs got out of the yard and ran away. We have looked and looked with still no sign of them. We started looking at around midnight and Brent drove all around until 4 a.m., then with a heavy heart, came home. We started looking early this morning. I called Corrie and Ryan, because I knew they may be the only people who truly felt the agony I was feeling. They are the sweetest friends, and spent the entire morning and afternoon searching for our dogs along with Garrison, our friend from out of town. We passed out and posted flyers, called the emergency clinic and animal dispatch. The Humane Society is closed on Sundays, so I am hoping that someone will turn them in this week. Our neighborhood is not the best and I think we will have to offer a large sum of money for their return. Otherwise, I don't think anyone around here will care, sadly. They are so precious. The thing of it is, they cannot go far, their bodies are not made that way. They get way hot and cannot go long with out needing to rest. I don't know what to think, except it feels like my babies are gone. I know they are not people and I am starting to see how awful it is to have a child kidnapped or die. My heart is breaking in so many ways. Frankie has been my little girl since before we were married and Emmitt is the sweetest boy. Please pray for our family. Brent is taking it very hard. As most of you can recall, losing a dog is a painful part of life. For us to lose 2 at once is particularly difficult. Please pray they return, we are holding on to hope that maybe they will. In the meantime, the grieving process is hard. I really can't remember the last time I was in such anguish.

Nicki-I'm so sorry to hear about your babies. I lost my first dog (Lady) right after we got married and it was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I'm praying for you guys. Let me know if there's anything Andrew & I can do to help or if you just need someone to talk to.

Bless your heart, I can't even imagine! My dogs are my babies, too and it breaks my heart just reading your blog. I will be praying for you guys and for the pugs! I hope some little girl just begged her parents to let them come inside their house and sleep in her bed and that they will find you guys soon!
