WiLsOn-O-wEeN 2009

I am a sucker for a good tradition. The thought of family traditions always made me so excited to have a family and now I get to see them all played out. I love having a house for people to come hang out. Wilson-O-Ween started in 2007, this is the third year. Super casual, super fun! We always start out with lots of food to munch on! This year, soup, nachos, brisket tacos, Bush's chicken and lots of sweets! We then all venture out to trick-or-treat. This year was a little different because there were a few churches doing their fall festivals, so the crowd of not the same because people were attending their church stuff. The Polnicks, Hillmans, Tetens, Guckie & Bubba and Gigi and Pop Pop came. Mamadou, Tim Bush and Tweety Carter & family came too! Mamadou had never been trick-or-treating before, Tim is back in town and Tweety has a little girl, so it was great to have them. This was before we even got started! They are already tired!

Our very first trick-or-treater was a familiar face! Fireman Colton!

Before we went trick or treating, we had to do the usual paparazzi thing. 1,000 picture of the same thing. You know, what moms do best! Kendra and Sally are looking good at 7 or so months pregnant! Aren't they cute??? Makes me miss a huge belly...not! That was me last year circa 36 weeks thinking walking a few blocks would surely send me into labor!

REW was loving on Sal. She REALLY loves Josh because he talks to her in a Donald Duck voice!

We got to snap a couple of pics of Colton before he had to head off to his church fall festival.

Mug saw Creighter's moustache and insisted on having one too! I decided he looks like a fireman from Chicago {da Bears guy}!

Little SJH was a doggy. And he adores Frankie. I think he needs to pet sit for us!

Another attempt to get the kids in the same picture. I honestly don't know how the rest of you do it. Is there a class I am missing? I feel like everyone knows a secret. One of mine moves every second {dalmation} and the other takes pictures looking off into space {fireman}, mouth agape, or saying chhhheeeeeese. So, at least we are in the same frame...

This is such a good picture, minus Mug's mouthful. Gigi and Pop Pop had to run to go to the fall festival with the other Wilsons. They need more copies of themselves with our quickly multiplying family!!

And Creighter and Mug "working". These two seriously should have been lawn-service men for Halloween. That is truly what they want to be. Or rodeo stars.

Mug with Tweety Carter. This is Mug's hero of the season. He will one day appreciate this picture, I am sure.

"Are we ready to trick & treat?" This kid knows the game well!!

Tweety, Chelsea and their daughter Kylah.

All the kids briefly gathered in one spot! Briefly, I say!

Annnnnnd, we are off! Into the neighborhood at last! Look how funny we look! Seriously, we were our own little parade. {back view}
{Front view} REW is ready to go!!!

So is Mug!

REW is antagonizing SJH.
Most houses these days just put candy out on the front porch. There were a few houses that were still old school, but times have sure changed!

Kimbo and I are dressed as moms. HA! Complete with our mom cardigans! Always nice to get a picture with a bestie. No matter how tired we look!

REW loves uncle Michael. She is such a trooper!

My priss has to be held!

On the way home, Mug and Creighter held hands. So precious. I am not sure if it was prompted or not. Still, I treasure these moments. Of course, all the dads were freaking out saying it was not cool for them to do that! All the moms were snapping pictures!

Guckie is walking these two home for the final stretch! Thank goodness for Bubba and Guckie! They walked Creighter and Mug to all the houses they desired to go to and kept them safe from traffic!
This was not the end of the night, but it is all I had the energy to capture. We went home and ate a TON more, had a lasso party {all I can say is SUGARED up kiddos}, laughs, kids baths, pallets on the floor, movies and a few tuckered out kids...parents too! Good thing we got an extra hour of zzz's! What a fun party! Hope to see everyone next year!!!!!

first of all...thanks for the invite to Wilson-o-ween! Ohh...we didn't get one :) Second, ya'll need to come to our neighborhood where we greet the kids at the door instead of leave candy out. That's no fun!! In fact, if you have a super cute outfit or homemade one I particularly like, you get more candy!!! You'll have to stop by our neck of the woods next year! -shannon

What fun Halloween memories for those kiddos!! I got Karlie's costume from the magazine Sensational Beginnings. We had to shorten it by an inch or 2, but other than that it fit perfectly!
