REW Has a Way About Her (5 months)

Oh those sweet chubby cheeks, that little lone dimple and those electric blue, dancing eyes. There she is! My little REW! What a doll baby if I ever saw one, but hey, I might be a little biased! She has blessed our family for 5 months now and as always, I simply can't believe she is already that old. When I think of a 5 month old, I think of a baby who is about to blossom. About to become a bit independent. About to really show their colors. About to sleep thru the night. Well, maybe not that one! I do think all of the milestones we wait for are just around the corner for her. She is getting super strong! Eating cereal? Check. Rolls from back to tum? Check. Hold head up super straight? Check. Puts everything she can grab in her mouth? Check. Check. She also wants to sit up on her own and I think in this next month, she will be able to do it without assistance. Yep, she is a drool bubble blowin' baby, alright!
She continues to sport the mohawk and it is almost always donned with a bow. Unless daddy has her, then, you get the mohawk. I love that she has enough hair for me to "fix". I am just thankful I do not have to glue anything to her head like my mom did for me for the first 2 years! I vowed to almost never let my daughter go without having the perfect finishing touch in her hair and I would stop at no means to get something up there! Hey, that's what girls are for! As you probably read on her stat sheet, she is a petite sis. She is going to be little. Still, her little rolls are just too much. I guess the old addage is true: muscle weighs more than fat.

REW goes to the church nursery finally. She, unlike someone else we know, is perfectly content there. She has not cried once since we have been leaving her. She is so trusting with everyone. Not sure if that is good or bad, but it sure makes it easier when mama has to leave! We'll see how long it lasts like this. Funny thing, I was thinking the other day that my kids could not be more opposite! From the way they sleep to the way they like to be held...total contrasts. The only thing they have in common is their looks! I already see the way REW is going to need attention differently and how her discipline is going to be totally different from how I operate with Mug. So weird!
She is definitely the second child. I can sit her down anywhere and she is fine. Infact, she would rather be alone than held. Although, if Mug is around, all she wants to do is watch him so super intently. She thinks he is the greatest little man ever! And you know what?? He FINALLY acts like he loves her! He always wants to see her and hug and kiss her! She loves it, until he smashes her or tries to pull her out of something she is strapped into!
Her favorite time is by far bath time. This is what she and daddy do every night! She could soak for hours upon hours. Because she likes hot baths so much, she constantly has eczema! Don't worry--we treat it. She just loves her baths so warm! She also loves long runs with mommy in the BOB. She just sits and soaks in the sounds and the breezes. She takes her lovey and just plays with it and relaxes! What a fun thing for us to do! Speaking of lovies--loves them! She has her main one, Buns, and then another multi-faceted one we take on the road.
The only thing this little miss does that is short of perfect...SLEEP ALL NIGHT! Well, you know how I feel about this one. Some nights are pretty good, and others are really really bad. I blame teeth. I always blame teeth. Oh well, for now, I am just maintaining a positive attitude and a full pot of coffee brewing all day long. Who could be down on that when you get to look at this little sweetness all day (and night) long? REW, you are somethin' special!
