"I Like Her!"

Several people have been asking how Mug is doing with Miss Reese. First, let me share some cute pictures of the kids (still can't get over that word).
This picture is my favorite picture ever of Mug. This was taken when I got home from the hospital and he was at his Gigi and Pop-Pop's. He had a high temp so Pop-Pop laid on the couch with him to watch the Cowboys. I think he looks angelic. Too bad he was super sick! When Daddy gives you breakfast...

Miss Reese during her non-sleeping, non-pooping moments...but I think the face was proceded by a poo.
Hello there...
Ok, on with the story. Mug has been saying, "I like it", or " I don't like it" to almost everything lately. His likes are very ethusiastic and dislikes are said with disdain. I was afraid Reese would be an, "I don't like her, Mommy." I was pleasantly surprised to hear the opposite when he first got to hold her! So, Muggy likes her.
My little man is not gentle. He is not really a nurturer either. I think his personality is 90% adventure. 10% other things. He is the aggressor at playgroup. I know it. Everyone knows it. His little friends get a shirt pull to the ground on most occasions. Well, poor Pieces is no different. He get oh so so excited to see her in the morning! Runs in and yells, "Baby-Weece...HI HI HI...hello!!! So sweet. Then he rocks her moses basket really hard. He also loves to pull her out of her carseat...when she is still buckled in it. Today he hit her in the head with a purell bottle. I know it will get better as he can understand more. For now, I tell him over and over that she is breakable like Daddy's glasses.

Still, he is in love with her. She will have to learn to be a tough cookie, I suppose.

You don't like dressing her up, do you? I love those sweet kids.

I second Kimberly's comment. So cute in her little dolled up dresses!

I'm so glad Mug "likes her." I know that is a great relief to you! And it will get better...most of the time. At least the aggression comes from excitement and not from disdain. It sounds like Mug and my Caden are much alike, and I can say a few months in that the roughness does improve at least a bit.

She is such a doll, and I love all of her adorable outfits! Loved reading about what Tristan thinks of her. That gets me sooo excited about watching James as a big brother!! I can't wait to see what Reese's personality will be. Your two kids are too cute for words!

First, I love the fact that you always have a bow in her hair. I always said if I ever get a girl I vow to always keep bows in her hair. If nothing else- at least she gets used to them!!!
Also, Luke is exactly like you describe Tristan to be...always the rough one. There have been times when he has hurt Brady because his "gentle" is not really that gentle. I have been amazed at how protective he is of his little brother though. I have to watch him carefully around Brady, but I think Brady is just going to be one tough cookie from all of the "kisses" & "hugs"...

It relieves me to know my son's not the only one. :) Half the time Avery just bats her eyes when Hudson comes near which makes me sad for her! But now that she's really mobile, she's learned to laugh, go with the tackle and sometimes even fight back :) It's frustrating and cute all at the same time. A friend told me a couple of weeks ago that she was in high school before she quit flinching when her big brother walked by! SO glad that your kids love each other!

I so loved looking at these pics and reading everything. Boys definitely show love and emotions in much different ways than girls do. Brooks walked up to Abbie, hugged her, and then slapped the fire out of her face this morning. All in one encounter. She will teach Tristan one day, that or just hit him back! (:
