Oh, BOB! My heart longs for you.
I am missing my runs. This 107 degree heat is killin' me! I am dreaming of this guy:
Mr. BOB. Ironman BOB. Double ironman BOB. He would be so nice for a little jog with me +Tristan+Reese. He is a handsome old gent. Thing about BOB though, he comes at a high price. Still, I think it may be love at first sight. Gotta get me one of these guys. Isn't he lovely? Does anyone out there know BOB? What do you think of him?

One of my friends just got BOB at her baby shower...the single version. I don't know anything about them, but apparently they are very expensive but very good.
Nicki-hmm, well the river is definitely something to do although I wouldn't recommend floating since it will be so low, but you and Tristan could find some great pools to sit and play in. There's a movie theater, bowling alley, some cute shops downtown, an old fashioned soda fountain/pharmacy right downtown. Our public library was recently rebuilt on West 90, El Progresso Memorial. It is really nice inside and always has great programs in the summer for kiddos. Great Mexican food at Los Alamos which is on West 90, past the cemetery on the left. There's a great new place called Oasis Outback on East 90, too with a restaurant inside of it. It is a big hunting, clothing, home accessories store...all sorts of stuff!
Garner State Park isn't far, just about 40 miles North on 83. There are sometimes activities going on there.
You should get online and go to www.uvaldetx.com and see what's there, and maybe go to the chamber website and see if there are any activities going on while you all are there. I don't know if you are staying in Uvalde or near the river, but if you are going to be in Concan on the Frio, House Pasture Cattle Company is an AWESOME restaurant and most weekends they have great entertainment (and there's a nice play area for the kiddos). The country club in Concan has a spa that is GREAT, so the boys could play golf and the girls could get a back rub, pedi/mani, facial, etc...
Hope this gives you SOME ideas.
Have fun!
I meant to put this in the comment...when I was pregnant with the baby we lost, I was writing down names for girls and boys and the ONLY girl name we could come up with was Reese Kathleen (my, my mother's, and her grandmother's middle name is Kathleen). So, I LOVE that you are using Reese!
I have been trying to convince Lee that I need BOB! I can't tell you how many talks we have had about this! I have a friend with one and she loves it. It is awesome!
charla,
AWESOME info!!! i am going to pass this along to my sis-in-law!we were a little nervous about going and being stuck with nothing to do.
i love that you had the name reese kathleen picked out! that is a beautiful name for a girl!!!

nicki -
i was looking at your blog and saw your question about Bob strollers. Jordan and I both love running and we have LOVED our bob. we went to a running store up here in dallas (luke's locker) if you have heard of it - and asked them what stroller they recommended and they recommended the Bob. We have the triathalon one - it has a set front wheel - where some have a rotating wheel. if you are going to use it for mostly running then i would recommend the set front wheel - but if you are going to use it more recreationally then the rotating wheel might be better.
anyway -we love it and you won't be disappointed. (at least we were not:))
hope this helps!

Well, I'm not on the Bob band wagon. We have a Tike Tech (ATX All Terrain) that we LOVE! I don't know about the double, but we've been really happy with the single. It was a little scary to order since I hadn't tried it yet, but I read so many great online reviews. We've not been disappointed.
I'm with Christy - no swivel for us.
I can run, Sam can ride, and the pups can jog along beside us - this stroller is fabulous!
