What You Should Read While Your Skin Burns to a Crisp

Did I provoke your interest?? Well, the book did mine! So much so that I laid in Tristan's swimming pool and read 100+ pages in 2 hours without realizing that I also turned my baby's home a nice fushia color along with matching stripes up my legs. A nice look for my brother's wedding this weekend. Sorry, Casey! I also got so burned that the I could not even attend my bookclub that I was reading it for that night! ahhh! So stupid!
Anywho, Same Kind of Different as Me is good good good. I have not loved a book this much since The Kite Runner. I think I relate so so so much to the main guy. I actually have a very similar relationship to a young woman as he has with the other main character, Denver. Something about reading this book is so spiritually motivating. I really makes me miss my days in the ministry and want to do something else for Christ by way of serving others. There are just so many lives to touch in this world that we don't even know about! Part of me feels lazy when I think about how precious these relationships can be and how simple it is to achieve them just by asking God to reveal what His plans are for you. Anyway, I just highly recommend this read as one of your summer picks. Just remember to reapply your sunscreen, please!

Nickster-I read this book in one day too! My mom sent it to me and I started it one Saturday morning...didn't move from my couch ALL day. I agree--very motivating and inspiring!

Oh, and yes, you should start watching My Boys. You and I can relate way too much to PJ (the girl)!

Nicki,
I've had that book recommended to me before but never found the time to read it. Maybe I'll go get it this week! Thank you so much for a fun playgroup today...Parker absolutely loved it (we have pics to prove on our blog)! Playgroup takes on a whole new meaning when you have a walker. Thanks for hosting!

I'm reading the Kite Runner right now--took it to the beach on our honeymoon! I'm not done with it yet, but I already know it's going to be in my top 5 all-time faves. I'll have to pick up your recommendation next! :)
