Quick!

This is a token picture for those of you who only read blogs with pictures!

I have to hurry and post, Mr. T is napping and I do not know when my next free moment may be!

My life has been busy. We bought a new house and put ours on the market two weeks ago. I am praying it sells to a cute family. Is it wrong to want that? Selling a house can be frustrating because you want it to sell immediately. We have had some good traffic, and one bite that did not go through. So we wait. Not a big deal, but it is so hard to keep a spic and span house with a 5 month old! His stuff and all of my pumping gear is always strewn about. I've learned some speedy clean up techniques!

Brent and I have been having devotional and prayer time together every evening. It started when we had 8 Great Dates at our church--we went to one of the sessions and it had you rate your spiritual satifisfaction together. Needless to say, ours was not where it should be, so we decided to change it. It is so so so enriching to spend time with him like that. I love it. It really challenges us to not be lazy in our relationship and see where we need growth. Anyway, maybe that is a reason my blog posts are not as often! A good trade, I think.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on where to take a mini-vacations. Just a little getaway. We would take Tristan so it needs to be baby friendly. Since he is still so small, it doesn't have to be elaborate. We are going to Vail in February. Ok, this post is probably boring everyone...leave me your suggestions!

nic,
i know of a cheap vacation, but another family of three may have to accompany you! my mom's bf has a farmhouse. trust me, not your typical farmhouse. the atmosphere would be fit for your hubby. it's outside the city, around great food, and free! the fall would be perfect timing. let me know.

are you doing a specific devotional at night? great idea! we learn so much from you and brent's marriage.

it's been since friday since we've seen you. creighter wants to play with mug.

Hey girl!
What about the Hill Country?? There are so many places out there...from spas to little bed and breakfasts.

I don't think it is bad to want a cute family to move into your house....it is where you brought your baby home and became a family....it will always have a special place in your lives and you want that for other people too...good luck with the sale!!

Hmmm...you're looking to drive somewhere, I'm assumng? I have lots of ideas for around here, but I don't think you guys are in the market for a 22 hour drive!

I bet you and Tristan have been having lots of adventures when you get those phone calls about a showing! When do you move into your new house?

New houses are always fun; can't wait to see pics! The farmhouse thing from Kimberly sounds fabulous and because it is "home" for me, the Hill Country is always great. We are "getting away" for our anniversary to San Antonio in October. The Riverwalk is always a great place with lots to do! Also, would you mind if I asked you what couple's devotional you and Brent are doing? Thanks and can't wait to hear what you decide about your vaycay spot!

Hey Nicki! Why did you decide to move? Is it still in the same city you live in now?
As far as quick vacations, I'm not exactly sure where you are (for some reason I'm thinking Texas, but I could be wrong), but the beach is ALWAYS a wonderful getaway location and I'll bet Tristan would love the sand and water for the first time! Just slather on the sunscreen, put on a baby hat for Tristan, set up an umbrella and your good to go! (But, again, I don't know how far you are from a beach, so maybe the hill area is best...what are the hill areas anyway? I've never heard of that.)

kimberly and charla,

i picked up a small group discussion book on marriage called 'Interactions' by Bill Hybel. there are a lot of different topics you can choose from. we cut the "lessons" in half. the reason i picked a small group discussion book is b/c it forces us to really talk and have discussion. it is a lot dealing with how you were brought up and how that affects us as well as romance and spending time together. we are almost finish with it and we are now going to read "Marriage on the Rock". I'll give you a report on what i think!

kimberly,
i think the 6 of us should go to the farmhouse! how fun! give me more details. should we go in the fall when it is cool one weekend?

amy,
we talked about going to fredericksburg. would that be fun?

page,
you are so cute! i am in texas and b/c it is such a large state, it has many different regions of different terrain. we have hill country, piney woods, a little it of gulf, panhandle, etc. i like the beach, but honestly, i am a mountain girl. the hill country is a really pretty place to visit. it is hard to decide!

has anyone ever been to eureka springs in arkansas?

Yes, I've been to Eureka Springs but it was a long time ago...pre-adulthood. I remember it as very pretty, though. If you have never been to Fredricksburg I HIGHLY recommend it as a getaway destination. It is beautiful and there is a lot to do, but it is also quaint. You are near Austin and San Antonio if you wanted a night in the "city." There are tons of B&B's and such. I'm a mountain girl, too. That is one of the reasons I have liked living in Childress thus far...we are only like 6 hours from NM and a couple more from CO...yay! Thanks for the info on the studies!

Nicki--

I've been to Eureka a lot, since it is not far from where we live. It is a fun little town with cute shops and some nice historic hotels. Let me know if you go and I'll tell you some good places to stay and eat.

I put a second vote in for Fredricksburg! I've heard it is wonderful, good food, relaxing, and just a nice getaway that doesn't wear out the budget.

Congrats on the new home! That is so exciting! When do you move in?
I'm sure your house will sell fast...it is a great home, and your decor makes it even more beautiful!

As a matter of fact...from my blog go to my parents' blog (Mom) and look at the last two or three posts. They JUST went for an anniversary getaway with another couple. They LOVED it! They had a GREAT time and came back rested and rejuvenated! If that doesn't interest you I can get some other suggestions to you, as well!
