This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it"! Psalm 118:24
Half a year! Can you believe it has been half a year since the sweetest Valentine's Day ever? Half a year seems so old, yet so new. So many things change with the blink of an eye. Sometimes, I think it is hard to keep up. Hard to store the memories, after all, where do you put them? How can you capture the joys you experience moment to moment? Remembering each sweet giggle that brings a smile to your face...the kind of smile that takes a minute to fade. Half a year has come and gone...
Tristan Michael is as cute as ever. His hair is now lots of white, shiny blond. It has really changed the way he looks. To me, he looks more like a little boy than a baby these days. He is tall and thin and growing all the time. Seems he will take on Brent's build, which is OK by me! He still looks just like his mama in the face!
I love his disposition. He is sensitive and determined. He also loves to talk, talk, talk, squeal, squeal, squeal! Not a lot of quiet time with Tristan. He still observantly loves to gaze at anyone and everyone, taking it all in. He seems to "work" on his toys with seriousness, and to be completely honest, he prefers me to talk or sing to him. He also loves to be read to. He looks up at the books and appears to be mouthing back. So advanced ;)
We have mastered the art of sitting up, with a few wibbles and wobbles. Also, scooting and rolling are the favored forms of transportation. I can only guess where he will end up when I sit him down. Gone are the days of doing something on my own for a moment. He is up and seems ready to crawl, but is just a little unsure of the next step in the process. Also, I think I finally feel a tooth. The favorite excuse is finally a reality. He is grumpy because of a TOOTH!! He went swimming this past week and for the first time, enjoyed it! He lounged in the pool and loves to stick his face in the water!
So, I look at my baby and sigh. He is getting so big. Growing up so fast. Getting his own little personality and showing it off. I love and adore him. I love to see all of his qualities and traits. I want to know what he will be like as a toddler. I want to know who he will be friends with. What he will be good at. I have to tell myself, "wait". It will all come too soon. Just think about all that has come in only 6 short months. I am so looking forward to the coming months and what all they have in store....I am still in awe of the blessings the Lord has given to our family.

This growing thing these babies have to do is so bittersweet! I made a flippant comment to a friend today about Sam (my 4.5 year old) going to Kindergarten in a year and started crying...in the middle of lunch! I think one reality of being a mom is that we are always going to be saying "I can't believe he is this age", I say it all the time!
Addyson is turning 3 months on thursday, I can't believe how fast those months have come and gone. I can't wait to see all the new things she will learn but part of me just wants her to be this little baby forever. Oh how time flies. Your son is adorable!!! So precious.
It's hard to believe that Tristan is already 6 months old and mobile and munching on "real" food. How time just flies! Do you have a picture so we can see how tall he is?
