I Hate to Say It...

...and you all will probably be upset with me, BUT...I am glad to see Melinda go. First, let me say with a huge emphasis that I am REALLY not feelin' this season, dawgs. I just don't love it, I have tried, I have lied to myself trying to say I do, I do, but I don't. I didn't like Melinda because I wouldn't buy her songs and put them on my I-Pod. I wouldn't. Too gospel, churchy. She has a good voice without a doubt. She is talented. I know she is a Christian too. So, I love her with a Godly love, as a sister in Christ, but sorry...it's just "a-ight" as far as her voice goes. It's not my flavor. Sorry.

So, I might add that even though I really am not hearting this season, I am a Blaker girl fo real. I like him. Not even close to the level I liked Taylor (or even Daughtery or Elliot for that matter), but he is entertaining. I like his style, which is so much more ME. He reminds me of a 311 or a Maroon 5 (as we all saw Tuesday night). I like that kind of music and always have. I think Jordin will win, sadly. She is cute and I like her, but...ho hum.

Still, come next week, I will be glad to get this season over with and look forward to the next batch. I'm still a believer.

What has Taylor done since he won? I'm not a fan of his - McPhee should have won!

My dad says he won't watch any more of this season because Melinda is gone. I did like her! I think she'll still be successful, she just won't have the American Idol folks dictating her every move. This all may be a blessing in disguise for her. Blake does nothing for me, though. I guess we will see!!

In the little I've watched (when my wife is watching) I've been amazed at the sheer lack of talent in this group overall. I guess they've found all of the talented people in America already.
Melinda would be an above-average singer in a good church choir. I think all the truly hidden talent is in churches. And seeing as how very few of the Idols achieve Kelly Clarkson status (and even her new album is sadly TERRIBLE!) I wonder how much longer the show will last.

Nick, I couldn't agree with you more! I was just telling Adam last night that of the three of them, Blake is the one I would listen to in my car, and he agreed. We like his style and creativity--and we are also fans of short guys who can sing and write music. :) I also think Jordin will win, which makes me sad, but all in all, like you said, this season was disappointing. Oh well. We know they will do it again next year!

I'm grinning. Mainly because I both agree and disagree...here's why. I have to agree that I too am a Blaker girl. The reason I find myself drawn to him I believe, is his sheer uniqueness...he is not like any of the other contestants, much less anyone who has ever tried out. I think he has true talent...his beat boxing is great, when he makes it great. Does that make sense? I definitely would listen to his music in the car, but when I think about the others, I can't say I would actually purchase a song...maybe "copy" from a friend, but my own dinero...dunno 'bout that. I absolutely LOVED Blake during Bon Jovi week...then again, I was a bit enamored with the fact that it was Bon Jovi to begin with (yes, I was totally the girl who was caught mid-sentence in my room "Aw...we're halfway there, oh oh, living' on a prayer, take my hand and we'll make it I swear, Whoa livin' on a prayer...oooo, whoa whoa whoa; oooo, whoa whoa whoa"). I liked Melinda because she had such great values and I loved her answers to questions and her wit and how she always gave Simon a hard time in a subtle way. HOwever, I am rooting for Blake, Blake, Blake...and wish Jordin the best...truly.

I loved all 3 and was sad Melinda left, but Season 2 and last season were still my favorites. I wouldn't buy a Melinda cd, but I LOVED her and thought she was an incredible performer! I think she could do really well, but not in an idol way. Blake, I love, and Jordin, I'd like to see her do more pop songs like she did one week.

It is like you took the words out of my head. I totally agree. I am also ready for another season. Or maybe "So you think you can dance" I am ready for that one too!

I agree, this season has not been too great. I was sad to see Melinda go (especially since she's a good friend of my sister's!) I agree with Corrie, this may be a blessing in disguise for her (just like it has been for Mandesa:) Should be interesting to see how this season ends!
