3 Months (a late post)

Psalm 34:11 " Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD."

There is nothing better than the sound of the little noises coming from your baby. The big tooth-less grin followed by the little gurgles and then giggles. Their sweet faces when they look at you in the morning when you go to take them from the crib. Once again, motherhood has far surpassed my expectations.

Tristan is growing like crazy! I think he looks much more baby-ish now than a newborn. His dark hair is rapidly turning blond and he has the blessed fat rolls on his arms and legs! Gaining weight seems to be the easiest task he has to accomplish! His eyes are going to be trouble. My oh my, he has a set of peepers. They are gorgeous. Big. Blue. And ladies, lock up your daughters because he has him some gorgeous eyelashes that will surely make him a heartbreaker. Well, they certainly work when it comes to melting my heart! I love it when I walk in the room and he looks at me and smiles! That's all I need!

We discovered that tummy napping is the only kind of napping. I know it is against the rules these days, but hey, whoever wrote the rules was not at my house before Tristan's naps! Don't worry though, he is sleeping a whopping 11.5 hours on his back at night! Tristan is a creature of habit. He needs a very strict routine. Everything needs to be like clock work. It has taken me about 11 weeks to figure that out. Seriously, 90 minutes after a meal, we need a 60 minute nap. Before the nap, we need 10 minutes of rocking in the glider while mommy hums old hymns to me. Works like a charm! This child is a CUDDLE BUNNY--loves to cuddles! 7:30 we need a bath a long lotion rub down (all by his daddy). After that, we need a little more milk and it's zzzzz's for the rest of the night! And so goes our day....

Most people look at him and quickly exclaim, "Nicki, it's mini you!", however, he has most of his father's personality traits! Like I said, a creature of habit, determined, opinionated, tunnel visioned and...super sweet!! Brent is quite possible the best helper in the world. He takes over in the evenings and loves every second! Our lives have been so very changed in such an incredible way! I find myself thinking about the next phase and getting excited, but a little bittersweet because I like this age too! Can it be that they really grow and develop so quickly? Where does the time go?! I can see why people want other children so quickly~they are sort of addicting! Don't worry though, pre-nap time is always a quick reality check :)
