hmmmm.....
my big boy hat
"Stop taking so many pictures, mom!"
"Humble yourselves before the Almighty and He will lift you up". James 4:10
...and humbled, I am.
As most of you can see, I am a day late on my update! Parenthood has called and I have answered! It is hard to put a snuggly baby down to write down your thoughts, and even harder to put a crying baby down to gather them!
Yesterday was my blessed's one month birthday! We had a big day filled with lots of fun! Kendra and Colton came to eat lunch and play. The cousins alternated their sleeping, so not much activity together, but the love is there :) We also had Liz bring a fabulous dinner and Gigi, Pop-Pop and Benjie came over to watch some DVR'd shows! We gave him a bath, and with many spectators watching, he performed very well!
It still is so strange to think a month ago I was gazing into a teeny tiny face falling in love instantaneously. My how love grows each day. He is now making his own little sounds. Almost a coo, but still unsure what his voice is! He is much more alert than ever...tracking voices with his eyes. He took his first bottle (to his mom's dismay ;) ) from his daddy and loved it! We went on our first walk. He loves to sleep in his carseat. We ventured out to eat and to daddy's office to show off. He has gained over a pound since his 2 week check up and I am astonished at what a little tiny pound does for his tee-niny body!
We are feeling more thankful than ever for our little son's life. It is a joy and privilege to know him. I cannot wait for the development of his personality! I already see a glimpse of what he will become...determined, opinionated, cautious and playful! I can't wait for him to smile and laugh and sit up! For now though, I am enjoying his smallness. I know how quickly he will be bustling off on his own. Independent. Not really needing our touch as much as he does now. Though he cannot voice his love for us...we know it is there. Bundled up in a small package of what we now know as a perfect piece of God's creation.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TRISTAN!

Who does Tristan like in the tournament?
he says he loves kansas, but i think he is just saying that to appease me. he also likes to watch butler. he enjoys watching graves play!
But what about the Aggies? Haven't the Searights taught him anything?!?
I can't believe he's already 1 month old. You're right - that 1 pound makes a huge difference in his looks. What a cutie!
Tristan strongly dislikes the fake military men (aggies) and their milkman cheerleaders.
awww nicki, he is adorable!..i love reading your posts b/c they make motherhood sound so beautiful.
Wow- a month has flown by so fast! He is one cute little monkey!!!
