Ang' and Me at the men's game
Kendra came to say hello
He lives! This is our long lost friend, Cody
The whole gang at the women's game--you can barely see little Luke!
This weekend our wonderful friends Angie and Caleb came from Houston to visit! Angie is almost 7 months pregnant and it was so incredible to see her little belly (she only looks pregnant from the side). Brent started off the morning with his TCA freshman team playing Midway and they (TCA) won my 30. Boo ya. Then we met for a little Cafe Cappucino breakfast. Angie and I went to Amelia's Attic and then to SPICE. I bought her some stuff for she and baby Luke at Baby Magnolia, which is so posh and whimsical!! After that we met up for the start of the Baylor basketball extravaganza!! The BU men played Texas. Boo. Hiss. I strongly dislike (isn't that what our Sunday school teachers told us to say in place of "hate") Texas and their fans. Nothing at all against them personally, but collectively I am nauseated at sight of them in large numbers. Plus, you know they are incredibly dominant in all their sports so you just basically gag. I mean, it really can't be any fun to be that good all the time. Can it? Anywho, BU showed some promise. I am not sure if all of you know how dear the men's team is to our hearts. Brent worked with them for 2 years and we have grown VERY fond of the coaches and the players, even their families. It really feels like every time we lose, a piece of us dies. It is defeating when you know them so personally. We get pretty defensive about them so BACK OFF! JK. Anyway, this is a young, very young team. A LOT of athleticism, but not quite all meshed together yet. In a few years, they are going to be so fun to watch! Hang in there fans! In case you missed it: http://baylorbears.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/012106aaa.html My favorite part of the guy's game though, was running into one of our best friends, Cody!! We have not seen him in an embarrassingly long time. I can't tell you how much that meant to us!
After the game, we ate and headed back to the Ferrell Center to watch our National Champions vs. OU. Two interesting facts:
1. Caleb's brother's girlfriend, Erin Higgins, plays for OU. She played really well.
2. I have been to only 4 BU women's games (sorry, I know they are the city sweethearts, but men's basketball is way more fun to watch for me...even a losing team) and every game I have been to, they have lost. Weird.
I think I should maybe stay away from their games because they also fell 73-70.
It was a nail biter. OU has 2 Mrs. Shaqs. on their team. They were beefy. My favorite parts of the ladies games are not so much watching them play, but watch KMR from the side lines. Squatting in heels, ripping her hair out, throwing her arms up and down, stomping, yelling 'bull s**t' clear as a sunny day. I think she challenged the he-she ref to a tango outside after the game. She is a pistol, she is. Great game. Great weekend. Thank God for old friends.

Nic,
In that last pic, I thought you were throwing a gang sign. Oops! Didn't realize it was a "Sic 'em Bears..."
i completely agree about the longhorn fans...we went to the aTm/texas b-ball game AT texas this past weekend and it's pretty sad when a 75 year-old woman is talking trash and trying to start a fight with my husband! terrible fans...
the student section was laughing out loud and calling an aggie player horrible names as he was hurt, motionless on the court, bleeding....
CLASSY...
that's all i have to say...
